The cost of getting married in Suffolk depends on several factors, including where you choose to hold your ceremony, the date and time you book, your Notice of Marriage fee and whether you purchase marriage certificates. Ceremony fees vary between Register Offices, licensed venues and At Home Weddings. Room hire is included in our Register Office Weddings, but separate hire fees apply to licensed wedding venues for example. View the fee tables on this page for current prices.

Register Office ceremony fees include the exclusive use of the ceremony room for the duration of your ceremony, the attendance of a Registrar and a Celebrant and the legal registration of your marriage or civil partnership. There is no separate room hire charge for Register Office ceremonies.

Yes. The Notice of Marriage fee is a separate legal requirement and is not included in your ceremony fee. Before you can get married or form a civil partnership, both partners must give notice and pay the relevant fee. This cost is in addition to any ceremony fees.

Marriage and civil partnership certificates are charged separately from your ceremony fee. The current cost is £12.50 per certificate with second class delivery included. Fast track options are available at higher costs. Please check the certificate fees section of this page. You can order certificates when planning your ceremony or after your marriage or civil partnership has been registered.

Yes! Suffolk Registration Service offers At Home Weddings and civil partnerships, allowing you to hold your legal ceremony at one of our Register Offices, followed by your wedding ceremony in your own home or another suitable unlicensed location, such as a family garden, village hall or private land. Additional conditions apply, and specific fees are payable for this service.

The most affordable option is usually a Register Office ceremony held on a weekday. The total cost will still have to include Notice of Marriage fees and any certificates you choose to purchase. Check the Register Office fee tables on this page for the lowest-priced ceremony options available but please remember to add fees for Notice of Marriage and any certificates you might need.

Wedding and civil partnership fees are payable at different stages of the booking process:

• Ceremony fees are usually paid in two instalments. A deposit of 50% is due when you book your ceremony, with the remaining balance due three months before your ceremony date.
• If your ceremony takes place within three months of booking, the full ceremony fee must be paid at the time of booking.
• Notice of Marriage fees are payable when you book your Notice appointment.
• Marriage and civil partnership certificates are payable when you order them.

When you book your wedding or civil partnership ceremony, an initial deposit will be taken by card to secure your booking. In most cases, this deposit is 50% of the ceremony fee. If your ceremony is taking place within three months of the booking date, the full ceremony fee must be paid when you book.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than three months before your ceremony. To make this payment, please contact the Register Office where you booked your ceremony, and a member of the team will take payment by card.

Notice of Marriage fees are paid separately when you book your Notice appointment and can be paid online as part of the booking process.

Marriage and civil partnership certificates are payable online or by phone when you order them.
