Licensed Venue Ceremony Costs

A ceremony at a licensed Suffolk wedding venue costs from £656 for ceremonies taking place before 5pm, Monday to Friday, between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2027.

Saturday ceremonies before 5pm cost £690. Sunday and bank-holiday ceremonies before 5pm cost £770. Ceremonies after 5pm cost £770 from Monday to Saturday, while Sunday and bank-holiday evening ceremonies are priced on application.

These are the ceremony fees charged by Suffolk Registration Service. Your venue will charge separately for venue hire and any wedding package or services you choose.

No. The licensed venue and your legal ceremony are separate.

The ceremony fee covers the services provided by Suffolk Registration Service. Venue hire, catering, drinks, accommodation and wedding packages are arranged and paid for directly with your chosen venue or supplier.

Yes. Your ceremony fee covers the registration team (celebrant and registrar) required to conduct and legally register your wedding or civil partnership ceremony.

A registrar must be present at a civil ceremony held at an approved venue, while the celebrant conducts your ceremony. 

The Suffolk licensed venue ceremony fee includes your planning meeting, your ceremony and the registration of your marriage or civil partnership in the National Register afterwards.

It does not include your venue hire, Notice of Marriage appointments or marriage certificates. These are separate costs.

You need to make sure both your chosen venue and the Suffolk ceremony team are available for the same date and time.

An available venue does not automatically mean the ceremony team is available, and a ceremony enquiry does not reserve the venue. You need to make sure both are available at the same time.

All our licensed venues offer the option to make a provisional booking, which does not require you to pay a deposit but holds your chosen date and time for a certain period. Contact us before finalising your plans or making non-refundable commitments.

A non-refundable payment of 50% of the ceremony fee is required when you book a licensed venue ceremony with Suffolk Registration Service. 

If your wedding is within three months of the booking date, the full ceremony fee is payable at the time of booking.

Your venue will have its own deposit, payment and cancellation terms, so check both sets of conditions before booking.

No. Notice of Marriage is charged separately from your licensed venue ceremony.

Each partner will need to attend a Notice of Marriage appointment and pay the relevant fee. The standard published Suffolk fee starts from £46.50 per person. 

No. Marriage and civil partnership certificates cost £12.50 each, including standard second-class delivery. A priority certificate service is also available at a separate charge.
